Technology Job Trends in January 2025
This month: Shadcn, CrewAI, Groq, and more!
Hello there, and welcome to our eighth monthly Job Trends newsletter!
I’ve launched a job search engine: 7dj.org
7dj contains all jobs indexed during the last 7 days. Over 1.5 million at any given moment.
I launched the search engine for three reasons:
LinkedIn job search is really really bad. This is a way to search on both LinkedIn and company career sites simultaneously
I figured it would be useful for job seekers to provide an overview of only the most recent job postings. Especially for those who have been looking for a while and just need a weekly check for new jobs.
To get feedback on the LLMs that I’m setting loose on the jobs data.
Every ATS job is now being analyzed by AI to extract useful data like: Salary Ranges, Remote/Office/Hybrid, years of experience required, and about 10 other data points. LLMs make mistakes so I’m hoping that jobseekers will report back any glaring issues.
I’ve also launched an Internship API for students to build cool products. If you have a tech-savvy nephew in college, feel free to share!
Access our Job Data
Are you starting a job board, enriching your AI, or anything else that could use our 10 million+ monthly jobs?

Job Trends Emerging this year!
These roles and industries appeared in jobs for the first time during the last 12 months:
1. Cetol
Cetol is a specialized software tool used for tolerance analysis and design optimization of mechanical components and robotic systems. It helps engineers simulate and predict how manufacturing variations and dimensional tolerances might impact the performance, fit, and functionality of robotic parts and assemblies.
2. NotebookLM
NotebookLM is an AI-powered research and note-taking tool developed by Google that allows users to upload up to 50 different data sources and engage in conversational interactions with their documents
3. Castmagic
Castmagic is an AI-powered content automation tool designed for podcasters, YouTubers, and content creators. It streamlines the content creation process by transcribing audio and video files, generating a wide range of content assets such as blog posts, social media updates, and newsletters.
Growing strong
These Trends are on the way up year over year:
Shadcn is a mysterious individual. Not much is known about them, except that they are currently employed by web hosting giant Vercel.
Why are they trending in technology jobs? Well, Shadcn is also the name of their popular framework for building user interfaces in development and has been steadily rising in popularity for the last two years due to its incredible flexibility.
CrewAI is an innovative multi-agent AI platform founded in 2023 and based in São Paulo, Brazil. The company specializes in developing and orchestrating collaborative teams of AI agents to tackle complex tasks.
Their popularity can be explained by having both an open-source platform and a platform serving enterprises.
Groq (which is not Elon Musk’s Grok) is an AI company that develops its own hardware and software focused on AI Inference.
Without getting too technical, their product is designed to work much faster than regular computer chips when doing AI tasks. Give it a try on their website, the results are near instant!
Groq’s API’s are currently available to enterprises, with pay-per-use for small businesses coming soon, so we’re expecting this trend to continue in 2025!
That’s it for now, thanks for reading!
