Job Trends in November 2024

This month: Life Enrichment, Replit, Immigration attorney, and more!

Hello there, and welcome to our sixt monthly Job Trends newsletter!
We’ve made a couple more exciting changes to the platform this month. Have a look at our new Trends page, which now has filters and sorting. We’re planning to add volume sorting very soon, stay tuned.

What else is new:

  • Trends are now based on a 2-month average, and once we have 1 year worth of data they will be based on a 3-month average.

  • We’ve started to index data from contract/freelance job sites such as Upwork. Expect to see this in the trends a couple of months from now.

These roles and industries appeared in jobs for the first time this year:

Flowise is a Low-Code LLM development platform for building and deploying AI models, emphasizing ease of use and accessibility.

A field focused on assessing and improving the results of healthcare treatments and interventions. It aims to optimize patient health and ensure effective resource utilization in medical practice.

Techniques used to separate molecules based on their electrical properties, often used in biochemical and analytical applications.

Cool stuff I saw in Recruitment Tech this month:

  • AI Company Anthropic dropped “computer use”, allowing the AI to take over your computer and do tasks for you. Like applying for jobs.

  • I stumbled upon Live Data Technologies, a company that tracks job changes by individuals. Make sure to follow Jason Saltzman on LinkedIn. He drops awesome knowledge bombs a couple of times per week.

  • If you work in Product, make sure to subscribe to Lenny’s Newsletter. Great insights and I especially enjoyed his latest newsletter on growth in Product roles over the years

  • ATS platform Applicant.ai released a demo video of their AI recruiter. A very controversial post on X (and kind of creepy). Is this the future of hiring?

  • If you ever wanted to create your own job board, now is your chance! Jobboardly is available on AppSumo for only $79 per license. That’s a lifetime deal!! The platform is not perfect but it’s a great way to get started as most job boards saas charge $100+ per month.

  • Freelance/AI Hiring platform Mercor raised a $30m Series A from big shots like Peter Thiel. They (in)famously use an AI interviewer as their first line of defense.

Growing strong in 2024

These Trends are on the way up this year:

Did the Democrats start a hiring spree for D&I roles right before the election?!?
Rage bait aside, the role of ‘Equal Employment Specialist’ has been trending since the summer. Digging a little deeper, we discovered that over 75 local and nationwide agencies had open positions for this role in June.
I’ll let you draw your own conclusions 😀

A life enrichment professional is responsible for enhancing the lives of residents in senior living facilities. We’re seeing that all Life Enrichment roles have had an upward trend since the start of the year: Coordinator, Director, and Assistant.
We believe this is due to an increased focus on holistic care, which includes not just physical health but also mental, emotional, and social well-being. Add an aging population to this equation and we’ve got an upward trend!

Replit is a collaborative software development platform, think of a Google docs for building software. It’s very popular right now, mainly due to two reasons:
- Younger developers who started using the platform in college due to their generous free plans.
- The included AI programmer, allowing non-developers to build apps and MVPs from scratch.

It’s going to be very interesting to see if Replit will establish itself in the next couple of years!

Ok, this one is going to be interesting.
‘Immigration Attorney’ has had an upward trend since the start of the year. Some months down, some months up. But, up overall.
Now, with the incoming Trump administration, I have a feeling that we’re going to see a lot more vacancies in the next couple of years.
Time will tell, I’ll make sure to revisit this topic in a year!
